The Pennsbury Inn is situated on eight acres of sculptured grounds bordered by woodland trails, offering privacy for special events such as wedding receptions, anniversary dinners, bridal showers, corporate meetings and catered parties. We are located in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, only minutes from Delaware and the city of Philadelphia.
On acreage purchased from Wm. Penn's Commissioners in the 17th Century, Pennsbury Inn's original dwelling house, erected in 1714 of Brandywine Blue Granite rubble stone, was enlarged mid-century by a stone addition of surpassing proportions with the front facade clad in hand-molded Flemish Bond brick. A 19th Century clapboard extension housed both coachman quarters and beehive bake oven. A 20th Century addition contains a garden view dining area.
The Inn proudly presents a blend of colonial heritage and country elegance. It is also listed in the National Register of Historic Places. All rooms are unique with many antiques modern bath, feather beds and some have electric fireplace inserts. there are 5 common rooms downstairs to allow for either privacy and group interactions.
