Our Bed & Breakfast is a charming country fieldstone home set on fourteen wooded acres on the side of Cheat Mountain. (The name Tunnel Mountain comes from the railroad tunnel that runs under property - used by a fun excursion train.)
The interior is finished in pine and rare wormy chestnut woodwork and tastefully decorated with antiques, collectibles and crafts. Each of our three guest rooms has its own private bath. antiques and a handmade comforter.
After a full breakfast guests are welcome to relax in the living room, on the porch or on benches around the property. For the more active individual - hiking, mountain biking, fishing, skiing, rock climbing or spwlunking are available. Seneca Rocks, Blackwater Falls, four excursion trains, Otter Creek Wilderness Area, Spruce Knob, Dolly Sods, The National Radio Astronomy Observatory,the American Mountain Music Theatre, Timberline, Canaan Valley and Snowshoe Ski Resorts are all close by.
Our Riverside Retreat Cottage offers up to six people a cozy get away along the Cheat River. The 360 sq. ft. deck provides a relaxing environment at the end of a long day of hiking or a great place to read a book and watch the world float by. The one bedroom cottage offers all the amentities (except food and paper products) for a perfect stay in a quiet, private location.
Visit our wildflowers in the spring, go adventuring in the summer, come for the leaves in the fall and ski all winter! Any time of the year you will enjoy the beauty and hospitality of West Virginia!
